Chiang Fu-sheng is a down-on-his-luck gangster buried in debt and mired in a midlife crisis. By chance, he becomes entangled in a violent conflict sparked by a mysterious organization known as the Fixers. Operating in the shadows among ordinary citizens, the Fixers are based in the century-old Qinghe Temple, where they discreetly handle thorny problems from both the underworld and the establishment tasks political and business elites alike cannot resolve themselves. Qinghe Temple takes Chiang under its wing and pairs him with Hsueh Chiu-nan, an arrogant second-generation political scion whose personality clashes sharply with his own. Their already fraught missions are further tested by Shen Mei-na, a mysterious Fixer who repeatedly challenges them. As tensions rise, Qinghe Temple's long-time rival, Night Moon Hall, allies with other factions to launch a full-scale assault, threatening to dismantle the underground order Qinghe Temple has protected for over a century.
